Best CPU Cooler 2020

Choosing the right CPU Cooler is just as important as choosing the right GPU or CPU. A great CPU cooler not only brings the temperature down drastically  but also increases the life span of the other PC components. Besides you wouldn’t want to pair a Beast of a CPU with an average CPU cooler. In today’s post I outline the best CPU Cooler in 2020.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

There are few things you need to keep in mind when shopping for a CPU cooler. These include your CPU socket ,your overclocking demands, warranty and the dimensions of your PC casing as not every CPU cooler will fit into your case. Similarly not every cooler may be able to control the temperature if your TDP is too high. Regardless all the CPU coolers in this list have been handpicked after thorough consideration and generally would work well with any PC.

Summarized

BEST AIR COOLING OPTIONS

  1. Noctua NH-D15
  2. Deepcool Assassin III

BEST LIQUID COOLING OPTIONS

  1.  Corsair H115i RGB Platinum
  2.  Corsair H60

BEST BUDGET OPTION

Noctua NH-L9

AIR COOLING

Noctua NH-D15

Best Air Cooling Option.

Type: Fan and heatsink | Compatibility:Intel LGA 775 – LGA 2066; AMD AM2 – AM3+, FM1 – FM2+ Fan speed:300-1500RPM  | Noise volume: Up to 24.6dBADimensions: 165 x 150 x 161  mm  Weight: 1.45 kg

Noctua’s new NH-D15  is a  dual tower 6 heat pipes flagship that beats its air cooling competition by a mile. Only drawback is the look as many don’t prefer the brown color scheme which makes it stand out  in the  PC case in a bad way . Otherwise it has a very  impressive build quality, offers superb performance and is very quiet.  It even  gives a tough time to  many water cooling options out there, performing as good as them at a comparatively low price point. With fantastic cooling and very minimal noise NH-D15 has to be my number one pick for the best CPU cooler in 2020 in the air cooling category.

 DEEPCOOL ASSASSIN III

A Comparatively Expansive Option For Extreme Performance.

Type: Fan and Heatsink | Compatibility: AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, AM4, FM1, FM2, FM2+, LGA 2011, LGA 1150, LGA 1151, LGA 1155, LGA 1366, LGA 2011-v3, LGA 2066 | Fan speed: 400-1400RPM | Noise volume: 34.2 dBA | Dimensions: 165mm x 138mm x 25 mm | Weight: 1.32kg

With a slick design and a dynamic look Assassin III is the second on my list. Coming in with 7 heat pipes and a dual fan tower ,Assassin III is a attractive option. However it is relatively louder than NH-D15 which is why its second on my list .  It comes with a 5 years warranty which ensures that you are putting your money on the right option. Needless to say the performance you get with Assassin III is exceptional as well.

LIQUID COOLING

Corsair H115i RGB Platinum

Best Liquid Cooling Option.

Type: Liquid cooling | Compatibility: Intel 115x, Intel 2011/2066, AMD AM3/AM2, AMD AM4, and AMD sTR4 | Fan speed: 360-2200RPM | Noise volume: 28-50dBA | Dimensions: 280 x 120 x 30 mm | Weight: 2.4 kg

Corsair’s H115i is everything you would expect from a liquid cooler at its price point. Its elegant rgb looks and extremely low noise levels make it stand out of all the other liquid cooling options. It comes with a redesigned performance cooling block and regulated control for pump and fans. It also has a 280 mm radiator and dual 140 mm fans that give it quite a bit of surface area for cooling. H115i is the best CPU cooler in 2020 .

Corsair H60

Liqued Cooling At Its Cheapest.

Type: Liquid cooling | Compatibility: Intel 115x, 2011/2066; AMD AM2-AM4 | Fan speed: 600-1700RPM | Noise volume: Up to 28.3dBA | Dimensions: 157 x 120 x 52 mm | Weight: 6kg

H-60 has its price point to its advantage. Being one of the cheapest liquid cooling options out there, this is the one you should get if you are looking for  Liquid cooling in a budget. However I strongly recommend going for NH-D15 instead as it’s just as good if not better at a pretty much the same price tag. Nonetheless Corsair has a reputation of being very reliable when it comes to product’s quality and H60 is no exception. It is also worth noting that the H60 is non refillable regardless, that shouldn’t be a problem as its designed with a closed loop which limits the rate of evaporation to a minimum. H60 has a expected run time of about 5 years.

Noctua NH-L9

Best Budget Option

Type: Fan and heatsink | Compatibility: Intel LGA 1156/1155/1151; AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/FM1/FM2 | Rotation frequency: Up to 2500 RPM | Noise volume: 14.8dbA – 23.6dbA | Dimensions (W x D x H): 206 x 184 x 37mm

 | Weight: 0.47kg

This is the best option for those who are on a budget or for those who dont have much space around their CPU . Noctuna’s NH-L9 is a very compact air cooler with a premium feel to it. It is capable of fitting into almost any PC case out there  and works exceptionally for its price tag . It  has very low noise levels and allows fully automatic speed control.

thank god , You are a life saver i was about to go for the H60 but no point in buying h 60 just for liquid cooling if NH-D15 performs just as good
